On behalf of the organizing committee, I’m delighted to announce the organization of the 11th Asian-Pacific Conference on Biomechanics (AP Biomech 2021) which will take place in the beautiful city of Kyoto, Japan, from December 2nd-5th, 2021. The conference will be held at the CLOCK TOWER Centennial Hall of KYOTO UNIVERSITY, which is conveniently located within easy reach of several world heritage sites, including Shimogamo Shrine, Kiyomizu-dera Temple, Ginkaku-ji Temple, among others.

Building on the success of previous conferences, AP Biomech 2021 will provide a platform for interaction and exchange of scientific research advances in the field of Biomechanics. There is little doubt that Biomechanics has grown tremendously over the years to become an important field with recognizable contributions to medicine as well as basic understanding of biophysical mechanisms underlying the functioning of living systems. We are putting together a strong scientific program covering a wide range of topics in biomechanics, biomedical engineering, etc., and will feature talks by leading international experts. As such, we are confident that AP Biomech 2021 will be a great platform to share your research with participants expected to include students, young and established researchers.

Therefore, we extend a warm welcome to participants from diverse geographical and research backgrounds to join us in Kyoto in 2021 to network, share and discuss recent research advances in Biomechanics. Besides scientific programs, you can look forward to enjoying the rich culture and history of Japan, Japanese foods, as well as the beautiful scenery of late autumn red leaves for which Kyoto is highly popular.

We look forward to seeing you at the AP Biomech 2021 in Kyoto. Please spare the dates.
